Full Job Description

Wood is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Mechanical Supervisor to support a critical short-term shutdown project in the oil and gas industry located in Teesside. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing mechanical operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality during the shutdown period.,

  • Oversee and coordinate mechanical maintenance activities during the shutdown
  • Develop and implement detailed work plans and schedules for mechanical teams
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and industry regulations
  • Conduct daily safety briefings and site inspections
  • Manage and direct a team of mechanical technicians and craftspeople
  • Perform quality control checks and documentation
  • Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues and provide technical solutions
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment status
  • Coordinate with other discipline supervisors to ensure smooth project execution

    Proven experience in shutdown management and team leadership
  • Advanced knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment, and maintenance techniques
  • Comprehensive understanding of HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) regulations
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work flexible shifts and in a high-pressure environment, NVQ level 3 in Mechanical Fitting
  • Previous experience in Teesside industrial sites
  • Certifications in advanced mechanical maintenance or shutdown management
  • Familiarity with advanced diagnostic and predictive maintenance technologies
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficient in mechanical system diagnostics
  • Understanding of predictive and preventative maintenance strategies
  • Experience with complex industrial equipment maintenance
  • Competent in using maintenance management software and documentation systems
