Full Job Description

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, Mechanical Technicians at Diageo are responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving mechanical assets at malt distilling sites. They ensure efficient maintenance and repair, follow Diageo's health and safety policies, and collaborate with operations teams, CAPEX projects, and other maintenance groups to maximize asset efficiency. Technicians drive asset care IMPROVE activities, participate in root cause problem-solving, and implement long-term fixes.,

  • Attending asset care/CAPEX/Silent season review meetings along with Maintenance Managers - providing specialist insight into plans
  • Delivering maintenance activities for respective engineering centre/site in accordance with a weekly/daily asset care delivery plan.
  • Ensuring the accurate and regular update of Maintenance Systems.
  • Recording and promptly reporting maintenance outcomes via SAP MMS to facilitate the sharing of best practices.
  • This role is based around a standard working week; however it does include an on-call rota which will require some weekend and evening work.

    Do you have a positive can-do demeanour, and the ability to make decisions fast, while dealing with high pressure situations? The successful candidate will be able to build and maintain positive relationships with both internal and external parties. To be successful in this role, you will need;
  • HNC level qualification in engineering or equivalent
  • Hands-on maintenance / engineering experience as a time-served engineer
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate to all levels across the plant
  • Ability to organise a variety of tasks and prioritise self and others accordingly
  • Full UK driving license with the necessary requirements to drive company vehicles.
