Full Job Description
You will play a key role in the delivery of a workshop service, dedicated to providing support for research and teaching activities in the Department of Physics. You will be part of an experienced team, designing, complex precision manufacturing components and contributing to the assembly, installation and commissioning of highly specialist equipment., You will work on a range of projects supporting the research groups and teaching laboratories in the Department of Physics.
- Educated to at least BTEC HNC or equivalent, with completion of a recognised engineering apprenticeship-training scheme.
- Significant experience in mechanical engineering workshop design and production, preferably within a research or engineering development environment.
- Experience of the design and construction of complex mechanical systems and high-precision components.
- Experience in the maintenance and repair of research equipment.
