Are you a first-class media professional looking for your next big career move?

Here at the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC), we are looking for a Media and Engagement Manager to join a small but proactive communications team to support the Commissioner. Using your expert media management skills, you will enhance the reputation of the office, influence public trust and confidence, promote the role of the PCC and support the Commissioner's local Police and Crime Plan and national portfolios.

You will have a strong news sense with the ability to react quickly to breaking news stories and be proactive in spotting opportunities to raise the profile of the OPCC, at a national level. You will also support the Commissioner at events and visits.

You will report the Head of Communications and be able to work proactively and independently, while adhering to corporate standards, protocols and processes, and be capable of working under pressure and to tight deadlines. Your keen attention to detail will mean you maintain accuracy and quality standards at all times. Whilst having no direct line management you will demonstrate leadership in your responsibilities through working with all senior leaders on a wide variety of projects.

You will be required to travel to various locations within Hampshire (and the Isle of Wight or other local authority), and it is essential that you have a current drivers' licence and access to a reliable vehicle on a regular basis.

The OPCC supports hybrid working, balancing working from home and working in the office with the wider team. You will be required to work in the office at least three days a week. You will also benefit from a generous employment package including a competitive annual leave entitlement, local government pension and flexible working opportunities.
