Full Job Description

The Business Development function is a centralised, global team advising and supporting the Firm in its marketing, communications, sales support, client relations and business development activities. The key drivers for the team are to ensure we support the development and implementation of the firm's strategy and in particular help:

  • Drive profitable revenue growth.
  • Develop and deliver a clear brand proposition through our sector focus.
  • The Role The role sits within the corporate communications function currently comprising a Head of Communications, three Media Relations Managers, an Internal Communications Manager and a Communications Executive. The Exec will be line-managed by one of the London-based Media Relations Managers. Role Duties This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to join an experienced team who can: -
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key media contacts.
  • Serve as a first point of contact for media enquiries.
  • Meet with teams across the business to identify and collect insights for engagement with the media.
  • Work closely with Marketing and Business Development teams to align PR activities with broader firm goals, supporting cross-departmental initiatives.
  • Draft press releases and announcements on firm news, key hires, client wins and industry achievements.
  • Scan daily press clippings to identify and respond to media opportunities.
  • Arrange and attend meetings with journalists.
  • Assist in the development of PR strategies for teams across the firm.
  • Assist with the drafting and editing of media pitches, comment articles and quotes.
  • Conduct research on industry trends, competitor activities and client behaviour to help inform media strategy.
  • Liaise with PR agencies to share insight from across the firm.
  • Compile documents to prepare stakeholders for media interviews and training.
  • Draft internal communications to update stakeholders on PR activities, recent media coverage and key achievements, fostering firm-wide alignment with PR initiatives.
  • Drafting social media posts and occasional marketing material.
  • Assist with the development of research reports.
  • Drafting awards submissions.
  • Manage, protect and develop the firm's reputation in line with its strategic ambitions including its core brand proposition: Quality Imagination Impact.

    At least two years of relevant experience in an in-house or agency role, preferably within the legal industry.
  • The ability to conduct thorough research on industry trends, competitors, and relevant topics to produce accurate and insightful content.
  • Proven experience in writing and editing press releases, articles, quotes, award submissions and social media posts.
  • Experience working with journalists and senior internal stakeholders, demonstrating professionalism and effective communication.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects and deadlines with efficiency and attention to detail.
