MOD - Air - The position provides RAF Medical Board assistance to Dir Support to maximise employment and employment of air assets., The RAF Henlow Medical Board is currently seeking a dynamic and resilient individual to join their team as a Medical Administrator. This role will primarily involve providing support for Occupational Health Assessments to Royal Air Force personnel. There is an open position for an Administrative Officer in the department, responsible for carrying out various administrative tasks to assist the RAF Medical Board and Clinical Aviation Medicine Services output.
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week., The successful candidate will be required to undertake a range of administrative duties, including audio typing and data processing, to support the operational functions of the RAF Medical Board and provide statistical data to stakeholders.
The ideal candidate should possess strong organisational skills and be able to work effectively within a small team. They should also have excellent communication abilities when dealing with both patients and colleagues. Previous experience in an administrative role, particularly within a medical setting, would be advantageous.
The chosen candidate will have the following responsibilities:
+ Managing new patient referrals using the Defence Medical Information Capability Programme (DMICP), accepting referrals and assigning them to the appropriate clinician as needed.
+ Collaborating with patients and Defence Primary Healthcare Medical Centres to schedule medical appointments and address any inquiries that arise, forwarding them to the clinical team as necessary. Handling telephone enquiries in a professional manner.
+ To ensure that all patients and visitors to the RAF Medical Board are greeted in a suitable manner, it is important to conduct relevant patient interviews after they have been inducted. In addition, there may be a need to perform administrative tasks as required, such as photocopying, scanning, and typing., We'll assess you against these behaviours during the selection process:

+ Prior Medical Board experience
+ Proficiency in IT, particularly in spreadsheet skills.
+ Familiarity and prior experience with the Defence Medical Information Capability Programme (DMICP).
+ Excellent communication skills.
+ Work collaboratively as part of a team while upholding patient confidentiality., + Be prepared to work within a larger multidisciplinary team, including providing cross-cover of other positions in times of leave or other absences (sickness, compassionate etc)
+ Be able to communicate effectively via telephone, email and during face-to-face discussions with patients, Consultants and visitors.

Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working. This is a non-contractual arrangement where all office-based employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in office, subject to capacity and any required workplace adjustments. Requirements to attend other locations for official business, or work in another MOD office, will also count towards this level of attendance.
