Full Job Description

Tile House Surgery is looking to recruit an administrator to join our existing administration team of 9 on a full time basis. You will provide general administrative support to the doctors, nurses and reception team. Full training is provided on all systems and processes. If you have strong administration experience, preferably with some medical environment knowledge, and are looking for a new and exciting career, then we would love to hear from you. Main duties of the job

  • To scan and read letters received into the surgery.
  • To provide an efficient service of typing of letters, reports, patient referrals etc. in an accurate and quality manner using MS Word and SystmOne clinical system.
  • To set up electronic referrals as required and attach forms / clinical information as per the GPs request.
  • The recording of and administration of all insurance reports, subject access requests and any other forms or letters required from GPs.
  • Dealing with incoming emails appropriately as per practice policy.
  • Contacting hospitals regarding patient appointments.
  • To receive incoming and initiate outgoing telephone calls, taking messages and dealing with appropriate queries.
  • To receive and dispatch mail.
  • Receiving incoming telephone calls from patients regarding their test results.
  • Any other duties which may be required, appropriate to the role of medical administrator / GP assistant.
  • There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks but this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels.

    Experience
  • Essential
  • Administrative experience and good organisation skills.
  • Proficiency in the MS Office package as well as excellent IT skill.
  • Ability to 'think on your feet' and a positive work ethic.
  • Excellent communication skills and a friendly, professional manner.
  • Ability to understand the need to maintain confidentiality and data security at all times.
  • Ability to multi-task and to work accurately under pressure.
  • Ability to work in a team as well as being comfortable working independently.
