Full Job Description

As a member of a multi-disciplined team you will be required to perform administrative activities within the Medical Engineering Department and the Equipment Library. Key duties will include providing first line technical support mechanisms including logging and tracking equipment maintenance, Equipment Library request and issues, raising requisitions, placing and receiving orders, technical component stock control whilst also providing administrative support and clerical to the department., 1. To provide clerical and administrative functions to Medical Engineering and the Equipment Library.

2. To administer service level agreement documents for the provision of maintenance services to third parties.

3. To work to and prioritise daily work schedules, and to work unsupervised to professional standards in compliance with Department of Health guidelines and relevant standards set by statutory regulatory bodies, the relevant equipment manufacturer and departmental procedures.

4. Contract/Agreement and invoice negotiations with other parties such as Primary Care Trusts, Suppliers and other NHS organisations. This will require communication and negotiation with staff at commissioning level from these organisations.

5. To maintain an understanding of the application, purpose and location of a wide range of medical equipment:- including support, patient monitoring, IV Therapy, patient therapy, diagnostic, ventilators, pathology, radiology, pharmacy and anaesthetics equipment used within the medical field, most of which will be highly complex and non-routine.
