Full Job Description

3 month secondment from 30th December 2024 until the 31st March 2025. This post is to support the community deaths the Medical Examiner's service is responsible for reviewing. Initial training will be provided at Lincoln county hospital, following this there may be the opportunity to work from home. The post holder may be required to support with the acute work and requires cross site working. Medical Examiners administration underpins the bereaved's journey, supports Medical Examiner Officers and Medical Examiners in delivering high quality service to the bereaved and can make a real difference to their experience. Effective and efficient administration within this service supports management through ensuring a high standard of data quality and by making the best use of capacity and resources. Main duties of the job

  • Assists and supports the Medical Examiners and Officers in providing an efficient Medical Examiner's service
  • Updates the shared spreadsheets and ensures all information is entered
  • Creates appointments with doctors for them to come to the office and complete the necessary paperwork following someone death
  • To support with service promotion and encourage engagement from the medical teams.
  • Provides cover for colleagues in their absence to maintain service levels

    Educated to minimum GCSE or equivalent at Grade C or above including Maths and English Language
  • Knowledge and experience of diary management
  • Knowledge of secretarial or administrative procedures and systems acquired through experience and training to vocational level 3 or equivalent

  • CareFlow user
  • Previous Experience Essential
  • Good organisational skills
  • Experience of using computers including Microsoft Office package
  • Experience of communicating well with a range of audiences
