Full Job Description

The Glaucoma Service welcomes a Fellow from outside the North Thames Ophthalmology Training Scheme who wishes to improve their knowledge and skills in the clinical and surgical management of Glaucoma. Applicants should still be in an Ophthalmology training post or have recently completed their higher specialist training programmed in Ophthalmology. Completed of a formal Ophthalmology training is preferable (post-CCT or equivalent)., The Clinical Fellows rotate six-monthly allowing Fellows to work with a number of the consultants during their stay. All rotations will involve placements in at least one of Moorfields' outreach sites. Some rotations over the two years will incorporate Saturday clinics and evening clinics (at any site) as part of the regular timetable. Fellows rostered to Saturday sessions at City Road must also be available to review emergency cases from eye casualty during clinic hours., The rotation will provide experience in the medical management of glaucoma and its subspecialties including laser treatments including specialist clinics such as Paediatric Glaucoma, Uveitic Glaucoma, Normal Tension Glaucoma and Angle Closure. The post will commence as soon as possible, for a fixed-term period of 1 year. The rotation will provide experience in glaucoma and its subspecialties, including paediatric glaucoma. The post will commence in August 2025, for a fixed-term period of 1 year. All posts are eligible for recognition for training by the Royal College of Ophthalmologists. The successful candidate will need to arrange the necessary approvals prior to taking up the post. Applicants from outside the EU can apply and may be eligible for full GMC registration and a work visa through the Royal College's Dual Sponsorship scheme.
