Full Job Description
The clerical support team provides a full range of professional administrative, secretarial, and clerical services which support clinical staff to deliver high quality, efficient and effective patient-centred care within Medical Imaging, in line with local and national standards. The MISM is responsible for leading this team, undertaking Radiology systems administration, and supporting the Medical Imaging management team., Key tasks include:
- Direct oversight of outpatient and inpatient/day-case waiting lists in line with NHS England National Diagnostics Waiting Times and Activity targets.
- Managing Departmental capacity to ensure that clinical priorities and waiting time targets are met through effective use of available resources.
- Overall responsibility for administrative services within the Directorate, and direct line management responsibility for Administration Teams.
- Participation in service modernisation projects with multidisciplinary clinical teams.
- Day-to-day operational input to arranging clerical cover, ensuring service continuity.
- The development of statistical datasets for performance reporting.
- Supporting clinical governance actions such as complaint/incident investigation/ providing Information for Significant Adverse Event Reviews (SAERs)
- Supporting the RIS/PACS lead in the provision of first line RIS system support, communicating with all Trust users in relation to planned and unplanned downtime and also providing application support to end users.
- Supporting the RIS/PACS lead in Radiology Information System (RIS) day-to-day service provision, providing support to system users and ensuring that the system is functioning correctly so that the provision of digital imaging services continues
