Full Job Description

The post-holder will perform basic tasks to support the Biomedical Scientists within the Blood Sciences laboratories in accordance with Standard Operational Procedures (SOPs). The post holder will organise and receive samples ensuring they are processed in a timely manner, including samples analysed on site and referred to other laboratories.,
- To assist with the receipt and processing of samples in accordance with SOPs.
- Undertake specimen reception and data entry with a high level of accuracy
- Collection and delivery of transport bags and consumables to and from bus / taxi.
- Assisting in preparing Blood Sciences and Microbiology samples for transport as needed
- Undertake pre-analytical processing of samples such as centrifugation, and post-analytical tasks such as filing/archiving.
- Undertake general portering duties within Pathology.
- Assist in monitoring stock control of consumables held in the department.
- Keeping the laboratory clean and tidy.
