Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Gastroenterology Department to work within the Medical PA team. You will be part of a team of three and will be required to provide high quality secretarial and administrative support to a team of clinicians, nursing staff and the associated administrative team., The Gastroenterology department is well recognised as a leading centre of advanced paediatric gastrointestinal medicine, clinical research, and teaching. The aim of the department is to provide a high standard of care for children with complex gastroenterological diseases. It is divided into 3 sub specialities, Neurogastroenterology and motility, mucosal immunology, and Intestinal rehabilitation.

Children are seen either as inpatients on Squirrel Ward or as day case or short stay patients on Kingfisher Ward, where we also have our investigation suite.

Previous experience as a medical secretary or work within a clinical setting would be advantageous. However, this position would also be a suitable as a development opportunity for a band 3 junior secretary looking for a role with greater responsibility.

You will need to be a good team player and be happy working with a broad range of people, with different skills. You will need to demonstrate that you can act on your own initiative, with kindness and empathy and that you are committed to providing the highest possible standard of service to our patients, families and to both our internal and external colleagues
