Medical Photographer

To support in providing a professional cost effective, efficient clinical and non-clinical photographic service using digital technologies to service the Trust. To ensure a high technical standard to aid in diagnosis, clinical assessment, patient records, teaching, research and publication purposes. To perform administrative and clerical tasks as necessary for the efficiency of the service. Being Accountable to department head.

We are seeking a friendly, enthusiastic, conscientious, motivated and highly organised medical photographer to work effectively in a team of 23 within our busy clinical/ophthalmic photography department. The job may include working evenings and weekends., Proven experience within a similar environment would be an advantage, although if not qualified then we will take on Trainee Medical Photographer using Annex 21. If Trainee, successful qualification will be required completing Post Graduate Certificate in Clinical Photography with Staffordshire University. During this period the trainee will be placed on Annex 21 at 75% of Band 5 for 12 months.

The successful candidate will have a flexible approach and excellent communication/interpersonal skills.

Our staff oversee over 6,500 patient contacts every day, delivering high standards of healthcare from the following sites

o Health Innovation Neighbourhood (on the former Newcastle General Hospital and Centre for Ageing and Vitality site)

o Newcastle Dental Hospital

o Newcastle Fertility Centre

o Northern Centre for Cancer Care, North Cumbria

o Northern Genetics Service

o Cramlington Manor Walks
