As a GP Receptionist, you will be the welcoming face and voice of our practice, playing a crucial role in ensuring a seamless experience for our patients. Your responsibilities will include managing appointments, handling patient enquiries, and supporting the clinical team with administrative tasks. Your ability to multitask, communicate effectively, and maintain a positive attitude will be key to your success in this role.
Main duties of the job
1. Appointment Management
Booking Appointments: Schedule patient appointments using the practice management software.
Rescheduling/Cancellations: Manage appointment changes and cancellations efficiently.
Reminder Calls/Texts: Send reminders to patients about upcoming appointments.
2. Patient Interaction
Greeting Patients: Welcome patients as they arrive at the practice and assist with check-in.
Handling Enquiries: Respond to patient enquiries in person, over the phone, or via email.
Providing Information: Offer information about practice services, procedures, and policies.
3. Administrative Support
Record Keeping: Maintain and update patient records accurately and confidentially.
Filing and Documentation: Organise and file patient documents, correspondence, and other paperwork.
Data Entry: Input patient information and appointment details into the system.
4. Communication
Liaison Role: Act as a communication link between patients, GPs, and other healthcare professionals.
Message Handling: Take and relay messages accurately to the appropriate staff members.
5. Prescription Management
Processing Requests: Handle repeat prescription requests and forward them to the relevant GP for approval.
Ramsbottom Group Practice is a training practice based in the centre on Ramsbottom serving a practice population of approximately 8,300 patients.
We are a friendly, supportive team consisting of 3 Partners, 2 salaried GPs, a nursing team, along with our admin and reception team.
