Applications are invited for an Medical Retina fellowship post in Ophthalmology based at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, from February 2025 , for 12 months in the first instance. Candidates should be post CCT or equivalent and wish to specialise in MEDICAL RETINA.

For international applicants, Oxford Eye Hospital is one of the only eye units in the UK approved by the General Medical Council (GMC) to provide direct sponsorship for fast-track visa applications (https://www.gmc-uk.org/registration-and-licensing/join-the-register/before-you-apply/list-of-approved-sponsoring-bodies)., The Oxford Eye Hospital and its consultant body has an active research portfolio. Participation in research through the writing up of clinical studies and case reports is encouraged. The Medical Retina Consultants are also part of the cataract surgical team. Fellows have the opportunity to access cataract surgery but only during weekend lists, there is no weekday theatre allocation within this Fellowship. There is also the opportunity to be involved in trainee, and medical student teaching on a formal and informal basis.
