The Medical and Scientific Affairs Lead for Oral Health (OH) will deliver M&SA (Medical & Scientific Affairs) excellence by providing leadership, management, expert insight, knowledge & direction to the global Oral Health Business. This is a senior R&D leadership position (Director) which supports the following critical business activities with additional responsibilities as an enterprise R&D leader:
Drive business growth through leadership of the understanding and awareness of relevant OH conditions.
Deliver medical and scientific leadership that enables best in class advocacy of OH interventions, driving expert recommendations.
Proactively enable Innovation led growth by supporting the overall innovation strategy and program of projects through expert knowledge, and impact of the OH M&SA Team.
Deliver world class medical and scientific governance ensuring compliance and adherence with Haleon SOPs, expectations and values.
This role reports directly to the global Head of R&D, Oral Health and is a member of the global OH RDLT. You'll be accountable for all M&SA activities undertaken by the end to end category group and a lead role in the oversight of global M&SA activities.. As an enterprise R&D leader you will also contribute proactively to enterprise R&D deliverables and global M&SA community, represent Haleon at external events, seminars, conferences and congresses, advocating for our Trusted Science, and represent the Haleon business externally as an expert in OH.

Leadership and Strategy
Develop and ensure execution of the M&SA strategy in line with the end to end (e2e) OH R&D strategy and commercial category and brand strategies supporting key business deliverables.
Provide strategic input into the e2e OH R&D, commercial and brand strategies, ensuring input drives business outcomes and delivers for our consumers, customers and experts.
Work in partnership with expert marketing, advance and implement a strong advocacy plan with DHCPs, driving brand recommendations and Haleons trusted science credentials.
Ensure medical & scientific affairs governance & compliance of category products and activities to safeguard the interests of consumers and patients and Haleon reputation.
Ensure compliance with relevant Codes and SOPs of all promotional claims.
Have oversight of Scientific Engagement activities initiated by Category.
Provide medical governance oversight for Category-led human subject research projects.
Deliver expert technical knowledge and leadership at a project level in medical activities (including MI, PV and promotional practices) to ensure best practice and achievement of project objectives.
Contribute to the development and support implementation of Medical plans (including claims / product changes) & deliver outputs according to category/ sub-category project plans and agreed timelines.
Develop effective internal network and relationships with other Haleon functions including Commercial, R&D, QSC and beyond so as to be able to effectively deliver our M&SA and broader strategies for growth across the business.
Develop self to becomes an expert "face" of Haleon for a specific category/ sub-category and contribute towards collaborations with the external environment (Agencies, Professional Societies, Key Opinion
Leaders, Healthcare Organizations and Consumers)
Be a credible ambassador for Haleon, in order to help inform Haleon activities and to help deliver business objectives.
Drive for medical consistency against category/ sub-category products supported across LOCs science and values.
Lead a team of 4 direct and 13 indirect reports.
Methodology and Process Management
Design, deploy, and maintain continuous improvement methodologies, tools, and frameworks, including Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and Agile.
Ensure consistent application of these methodologies across all functions and regions.
Utilize tools such as Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Root Cause Analysis, and PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) cycles.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of continuous improvement initiatives, adjusting strategies as necessary.
Support, with the Capability Centers CE Leads, the GPO process design optimization roadmap: Process mapping workshops plan, output planning and waste elimination.
Capability Building
Lead the development of training programs and resources to enhance organizational capabilities in continuous improvement.
Develop and implement training on Lean Six Sigma, DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve, Control), and other continuous improvement methodologies.
Mentor and coach leaders and teams to build a strong culture of excellence.
Foster a collaborative environment that encourages knowledge sharing and best practice dissemination.
Work closely in conjunction with the Learning and Development teams to build suitable capabilities and learning roadmaps that support the continuous excellence journey
Performance Management
Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and impact of continuous improvement efforts.
Analyse data and generate insights to drive decision-making and strategic planning.
Utilize data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI to communicate performance metrics.

Pharmacovigilance
Provide expert Medical knowledge of Category Products for internal and external stakeholders.
Medical Governance implementation
Drive knowledge and understanding of Medical Governance with category/sub-category teams - work with Regional Medical Affairs to help embed understanding and compliance across Regions and LOCs.
Support deployment and oversight of Category training in Medical Governance Policies.
Appropriate escalation of any medical governance issues.
Development of Data Disclosure plans to ensure delivery of scientific data disclosure strategy to meet GSK policy requirements at a project level.

BSc level degree in Biomedical sciences (Medical, Dental or related scientific filed highly advantageous).
Established experience in the Pharmaceutical or Healthcare industry, preferably in Consumer Healthcare / FMCH Business with experience in Medical &/or Scientific Affairs.
Demonstrated experience and proven track record working as part of a Medical & Scientific Affairs team within large complex matrix organization.
Specific Category experience in Oral Health highly advantageous.
Demonstrated business acumen.
Demonstrated experience representing an Organization with external stakeholders.
Clinical and / or academic research background preferred.
People leadership experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
