Full Job Description

Severn View Family Practice is a small-medium sized practice located in Thornbury. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Medical Secretary to join our admin team. Working in an interesting, busy office, you will need to have excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills. Proven IT skills and the ability to meet deadlines is an essential requirement. You will be expected to work within a small team with the ability to work alone, maintaining accuracy and prioritising all tasks accordingly. The post holder will need to be competent in audio typing and word. This is a part-time/ job share role- 3 days a week 22.5 hrs., To provide an efficient audio, copy typing and word processing services to all clinicians and health professionals as required. This includes typing letters, reports, patient referrals, minutes etc in an accurate and quality manner. To provide flexible cover for members of the secretarial team during periods of sickness and annual leave.

This role requires the post holder to organise their own workload in accordance with other medical secretaries within the team, taking responsibility to ensure efficiency of the service within the organisation.
