Full Job Description
The post holder will provide an expert administration service to the Directorate and its associated clinical teams.
The post holder will support consultants, junior medical staff and other health professionals with the creation of best practice and processes, support diary management, coordinate workload and appointments.
The post holder will lead and contribute to the effective application of administration skills in their area of work with a high degree of technical proficiency and will ensure that the speciality maintains an efficient throughput of work.
The post holder will ensure all administration duties relating to the patient pathway are adhered to as per the department Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), and will co-ordinate and maintain arrangements to facilitate the patients progression along a defined pathway, using understanding of work procedures own experiences and practices.
Will be required to collect and collate information relevant to the patient and the service, for example waiting times statistics, backlog and length of stays as well as delayed transfers of care and will report on statistics as directed by the line manager and clinical team.
We are looking to engage an experienced Medical Secretary with sound secretarial and excellent typing and computer skills to join our team which is based in Neath Port Talbot Hospital and take on this busy and varied post.
The post holder will be the primary administrator supporting the multidisciplinary CAMHS In-Reach Team within the Hillside Secure Care Home, and will work within the wider CAMHS Directorate to support daily activities and the professional workforce as required.
The successful applicant will become an integral part of the efficient administrative team providing secretarial support to clinical staff.A sound knowledge of medical terminology and experience in the use of hospital IT systems is necessary, as well as an understanding of patient pathway management. It is preferable that applicants have recent previous experience within a comparable role.
The successful candidate will be required to travel between the base and the care home site within this role.
