Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Diabetes and Endocrinology Secretarial Team based at Salford Royal Hospital.

Working in a team of medical and support secretaries, your work will help support the management of both inpatient and outpatient care .

With a keen eye for detail and a passion for the care, you will bring your experience and skills to compliment the service and drive continuous improvement for our patients.

You will provide a comprehensive Medical Secretary/PA service to a set of named Diabetes and Endocrinology Consultants, Registrars, Specialist Nurses, and our Management Teams.

Main duties of the job

o Transcription of minutes of meetings and general departmental correspondence when required and within locally agreed timescales.

o Transcribing of clinical correspondence when required and within locally agreed timescales as per the Key Performance Indicators (KPI).

o Work in conjunction with Consultants in relation to managing OP slot utilisation, minimising DNA's waiting lists, admissions, operating lists, adhering to the Patient Access and Bed Management Policy at all times.

o Work flexibly to ensure the needs of the service are met at all times.

o Assist the management team in addressing any complaints within the agreed timescales which may have been received within the Division.

o Exercise judgement and initiative in order to manage the workload effectively and efficiently, taking appropriate action to resolve any issues, liaising with appropriate personnel and seeking guidance from the Line Manager when required.

o Support Clinicians in identifying how data can be captured and managed securely in line with the Information Governance and Data Quality Policies.
