Full Job Description

An exciting and rewarding opportunity has arisen within the General Surgery Department in the specialty of Upper GI, Colorectal and General Surgery for an experienced Medical Secretary to support some of the most inspirational Consultants in the NHS based at Salford Royal Hospital within the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust.

Hours: 30 hour over 4 or 5 days.

We are looking for enthusiastic, highly motivated individual with relevant experience to join our high performing and successful team.The post will provide you with an exciting challenge and give you the opportunity to play a key-supporting role in a rapidly growing service which currently serves a population of 3.2 million.

You must possess excellent communication skills & have the ability to work both as part of a team and on your own initiative. You will be able to organise and prioritise your own workload and balance this with the demands of a busy, diverse and varied role. A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, RSA II or equivalent typing, excellent audio typing skills, waiting list management, medical terminology, proven organisational skills, 18-week standards & a strong commitment to personal & professional development is desired.
