Full Job Description

To provide an accurate, confidential and supportive administration service for patients, clinical teams, carers and internal and external agencies (e.g. Local Authority, Third Sector, CAIS) in order to: Provide a safe and efficient patient pathway and provide information and appropriate support to families and carers.The post holder will support the delivery of a comprehensive high quality medical secretarial administrative service.

To support the co-ordination of the administration arrangements to provide a high quality supportive secretarial service to the consultant, medical and nursing team. To work independently and be accountable for organising/prioritising own workload to ensure deadlines are achieved. To support the facilitation of the patients along a defined pathway., Applications are invited for the post of Medical Secretary. The post holder will provide an efficient administration service to support the North Wales Cardiac Centre within Ysbyty Glan Clwyd and the wider secretarial team as required.

It is essential that the applicant holds the relevant qualifications as per the person specification, previous medical secretarial experience would be desirable, a high level of audio typing skills, excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office and a good telephone manner. Experience of working in a busy office environment is desirable.

The successful candidate will join and contribute to a dynamic and busy Medical Team. The role will be working closely with Consultants and their juniors as well as liaising closely with other members of the team supporting the delivery of high quality patient care.

You must have the ability to work as part of a team as well as independently; using your initiative to contribute to the smooth running of this busy area. The post holder must have the ability to manage their workload efficiently and effectively.

Candidates must be able to maintain patient confidentiality and ensure a high standard of customer care at all times.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
