Full Job Description

Your key role will be in supporting the Emergency Department consultants and the wider multidisciplinary team, working alongside a small friendly team of medical secretaries/admin support. You will need to be self-motivated, highly organised and enthusiastic. Excellent communication skills are essential. This role can be demanding and flexibility and dedication is a necessity. You must enjoy working within a multi-disciplinary team and have the ability to communicate at all levels, prioritise your workload and think on your feet.

We are looking for an experienced part-time medical secretary to join our small, friendly secretarial and admin team in the Emergency Department at Birmingham Children's Hospital in Central Birmingham. We are looking for a team player who enjoys a varied role where no two days are the same. The post holder will play an important role providing an effective and efficient administrative and secretarial service to the Emergency Department consultants and the wider team/department.
Candidates will be self-motivated and possess an RSA II qualification (or equivalent), along with an AMSPAR certificate or comparable medical secretarial experience. You will enjoy working within a busy multi-disciplinary team and have the ability to relate to children, parents and members of the public. This will be complemented by excellent organisational and communication skills.
