Full Job Description
The post holder is required to provide comprehensive secretarial, waiting list management and administrative support to medical and nursing staff within the Urology team. The post holder will assist medical and nursing colleagues in the organisation of the specialty team workload, communicating appointment and admission related information to patients/carers. The post holder will be responsible for the supervision of the administration team as well as ensuring compliance with the Patient Access Policy and Divisional requirements in terms of inpatient waiting list management.
The post holder will have skills in all areas of administrative functions to enable them to support the patient pathway.
The post holder will supervise the specialty secretarial team in terms of day to day personal issues e.g. annual leave requirements and also keeping accurate records. The post holder will coordinate the day to day workload of the specialty team within the department, addressing any issues when they arise. To be the first point of contact for any queries.

This is an exciting post for someone with Medical secretarial experience or Administration experience within UHNM looking for exposure to supervisory experience and to learn new skills, therefore previous experience of working within a Medical Secretary environment would be desirable, but not essential as full training will be given on all aspects of this varied role.
