Full Job Description
Colchester Medial Practice has a fantastic opportunity for a medical summariser to join their team on apart-time basis, the hours will be discussed at interview depending on individual preference. The successful candidate may be required to work or assist and one of our other sites. The successful applicant will work in a team environment undertaking the summarising of patient records according to a set protocol which has been agreed by the practice. Main duties of the job
- Summarising new patient records to a high standard within an agreed time scale.
- Using medical knowledge to correct mistakes found in existing patients records, possible restructure the medical records to the practices standards.
- Maintaining a structure when recording new information and assisting GPs with queries relating to the medical records.
- Any other duties which may be required within the nature of this role.
Experience Essential - Administrative experience and good organisation skills;
- Sound knowledge of medical terminology;
- Proficiency in the MS Office package, as well as excellent general IT skills and experience of working with a clinical system;
- Experience in read-coding and work-flowing clinical documentation;
- Ability to 'think on your feet';
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly approach;
- Understanding of the need to maintain confidentiality and data security, at all times;
- Ability to multi-task and to work accurately under pressure;
- Ability to work as part of a team, as well as being comfortable working independently.
