Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen fora suitably qualified Medical Technical Officer to join the All Wales Medical Genomics Service with a flexible approach to work for 37.5 hours per week.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

The All Wales Medical Genetics Service (AWMGS) provides a comprehensive clinical genetics and laboratory service clinical genetics services to the 3 million residents of Wales.
Welsh Government and the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee are investing in the All Wales Medical Genomics Service to ensure patient equity across the UK in accessing genetic testing methodologies. The investment has seen a £10 million investment over a 3 year period to ensure AWMGS stays in the forefront of genomic medicine and develops the best diagnostic genetic services for patients. The Directorate encourages personal development and you will be expected to take an active part in the appraisal process. Not only is this a busy and challenging specialty but you would also be joining a friendly, dedicated team in Medical Genetics., Cardiff and Vale University Health Board is one of the largest Integrated Health Boards in the UK, employing over 17,000 staff, providing over 100 specialist services.
