Full Job Description

As a part of our commitment for developing careers, we are looking to appoint two new Medical Training Initiative (MTI) Doctors who are proactive, motivated, forward thinking, and dynamic individuals to join our clinical team. We have a good track record for training International Medical Graduates in such posts, offering the successful applicant the opportunity to work closely with existing Anaesthetics medical staff to provide a high standard of care across the Trust. We will match your enthusiasm, commitment, and drive to work closely with colleagues within a structure that allows you to be part of a developing team to help the organisation to deliver excellent care for our patients. These appointments will be made in accordance with the Terms and Conditions of Service for Hospital Medical and Dental Staff (England) 2002.This post is a 2 year post in which modular training in anaesthesia will be offered including General Surgery, Trauma, Orthopaedics, Ambulatory, Gynaecology, Plastics, ENT, Vascular, Urology, Paediatric, Major Colorectal, Robotic surgery, Obstetrics and Intensive Care. These will be dependent on the successful applicant's educational requirements & in-line with HEE training recommendations for this stage of training. Educational Supervison & mentorship support will be provided.

  • Conduct preoperative assessments to evaluate patients' suitability for anaesthesia and develop a plan for their care.
  • Manage the peri-operative care of these patients.
  • Manage emergencies and work with wider MDT & healthcare professionals while on-call.
  • Manage any emergencies that may arise during surgery.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team, including surgeons, nurses, and other medical specialists, to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  • Document all aspects of the anaesthetic care provided to patients accurately and promptly.
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development activities to maintain current knowledge and skills in anaesthesia and pain management.
