Full Job Description

The Medical Typist/Patient Administrator will work as part of an administrative team, to support the multidisciplinary clinical and administrative teams to provide a comprehensive, wide ranging, high quality administration service, a positive patient experience and the highest levels of customer service.

The role will mainly incorporate the booking of patients throughout their patient pathway as well as general administration type functions., Duties will include typing and checking of patient letters using the hospital systems, assisting in the maintenance and development of effective information systems and support the continuance of high standards of professional practice throughout the Department. In addition to these on-going duties, the post holder will be required to perform ad-hoc tasks as required to fulfil both departmental and trust objectives.

The post holder will be expected to exercise initiative, prioritise conflicting work demands and

effectively communicate verbally and in writing with the consultants, multi-disciplinary team,

internal departments and external agencies to ensure continuity in achieving excellence in patient care.

The post holder will be a key member who enjoys the challenge of having a varied role across different specialities and departments within the STAE Care Group. There is a need to be able to work to tight deadlines and withstand the pressure of a busy department and it is essential that you are able to work on your own initiative.
