Full Job Description

To work as part of the Clinical Cancer Pharmacy Team in providing an efficient, effective and safe pharmaceutical service to patients and service users.

Manage ward and patient drug stocks ensuring adequate stock is available in the clinical area by topping up stock. processing extra requests and proactively managing stock levels.

Dispense urgent inpatient and discharge prescriptions for patients within the clinical area.

To assist in the management of drug supply problems in the clinic area, moving stock within the trust to ensure availability.

Play an active role in monitoring, reporting and auditing defined Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) under the supervision of the Specialist Pharmacist responsible for the area.

Play an active role in assisting the development, monitoring and audit of the CAS clinical pharmacy service.

Implement local improvements to deliver the Trustwide Medicines Optimisation strategy.

Nottingham University Hospitals Pharmacy department has an exciting opportunity for a Medicines Management Assistant to join the Cancer pharmacy team working in one of the UK's largest and busiest acute teaching hospital Trusts.

This post will involve working alongside our established pharmacy team, consisting of Pharmacists, Medicines Management Technicians and Medicines Management Assistants. We are aiming to improve and enhance our comprehensive pharmacy service that we already have within the CAS directorate.

The Medicines Management Assistant is a crucial component of the Cancer pharmacy team and their contributions make a huge difference to patient care and this is recognised by the entire Multidisciplinary Team within the CAS directorate.
