Full Job Description

We have a permanent position available for 15 hours per week as a Band 5 Pharmacy Technician to join the Pharmacy team at Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust.,

  • Dispensing inpatient, outpatient, clinical trial and controlled drug prescriptions according to standard operating procedures.
  • Using the Pharmacy computer system to produce dispensing labels and to make stock issues, receipt and transfers.
  • Participate in the medicines management service including patients own drug schemes, assessing the availability and suitability of medicines, drug histories.
  • Accuracy checking prescriptions in a technician-led dispensary. Actively supporting patient counselling and compliance.
  • Providing support to wards using the Trusts ePrescribing System.
  • Supporting the day to day running of the dispensary workflow, trouble- shooting queries and signposting accordingly.
  • You are required to work your weekly contracted hours between Monday to Friday as per the needs of the service and ad-hoc weekends and bank holidays on a rotational basis.

    We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated individual with an eye for detail to join a well-established Pharmacy team. The hospital Pharmacy is a busy and friendly department providing an essential service to wards and patients in a Mental Health, Learning Disabilities and Community Health setting., You should have good computer skills, demonstrate the ability to work accurately, have excellent communication skills and be proactive. You need to be able to work as part of a team, work in an organised manner, and have a willingness to learn.
