Full Job Description
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Medicines Management Technician to join the Pharmacy Team in the South, with a base at Kingsway, to participate in the safe, effective, and responsive pharmaceutical supply services to Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. We are currently preparing to move into our exciting new mental health facility being built on site. Once all wards are configured into the new build there will be 2 female and a mother and baby ward at Radbourne unit on UHDB site. 3 acute male, a PICU and a female enhanced care ward on Kingsway site. We also have 3 older adult, 1 rehabilitation, and 2 forensic wards on Kingsway. Ideally the applicant will be able to work Thursday and Fridays, with the addition of a half day on Monday to Wednesday to fit into our staffing group and provide a balanced service Monday-Friday. Parking is free onsite, and reimbursed when travelling to alternate sites. The applicant is expected to be able to independently travel between sites. Weekend working is voluntary when the service requires, and bank holiday working is shared across the department., Participate in supporting a high quality medicine management service that is accurate, effective, efficient and safe to all wards. Ensure all new inpatient and crisis admissions are reconciled in line with national and local policies and medicines are ordered in a timely manner to patients within the Trust. Liaise with our pharmacy operational team regarding the supply of medicines. Provide medicines information and support to patients and carers to optimise treatment outcomes. Act as a role model, foster a patient centred culture and always project a professional attitude and appearance within and outside the department. Ensure audits are completed as per schedule and governance standards adhered to at all times. Ensure all action plans are followed up. Regular dispensing sessions to include dispensing of name patient prescriptions, clinical trials, extemporaneous products and controlled drugs, designated person in charge and ACT within our own pharmacy at Kingsway Hospital Derby to support the delivery of the service.
