Full Job Description

The Medicines Specialist Pharmacist for Weston General Hospital is an important part of the team managing the services at Weston General Hospital, within the wider UHBW.,

  • Maintain and develop clinical pharmacy services to the Medical Division including outpatients, front door and other medical wards at Weston General Hospital.
  • Liaise with the relevant senior pharmacy, medical and nursing staff so as to promote safe and effective use of medicines within the Medical division
  • Provide information and support to the Medical Division on drug usage and expenditure and work with senior clinicians in the directorate to maximise clinical effectiveness of medicines used and minimise cost.
  • Develop, with senior clinicians in the directorate, a robust medicines related audit programme.
  • Participate in the training of pharmacists, trainee pharmacists, undergraduate pharmacists and other pharmacy and NHS staff., people and vulnerable adults.
