Meet and Greet Volunteer

· To greet patients and visitors on arrival and escort them to their destinations across the site
· To patrol corridors providing assistance to anyone who may need support
· To provide an ad-hoc visiting service, if requested, for patients on wards without a visitor, Role: Hospital Meet and Greet Assistant
Responsible to: Patient & Family Support Team/Manager
Duties All duties should be undertaken maintaining confidentiality at all times
· To provide an escort service, following a request from wards/outpatients for patients going to other areas for tests
· To provide an ad-hoc service for wards, without a volunteer, to escort patients to and from the shop if they are able to leave the ward - always check with a member of the nursing team if you are at all concerned
· To alert hospital porters when a patient requires a wheelchair escort
· To ensure patients well-being and comfort is maintained whilst they are awaiting transport home
· To ensure that reception area and any information racks and notice boards are kept tidy
Meet and Greet Volunteers are not required to:
+ Sit at the desk at all times - First impressions count
+ Escort patients out of the hospital grounds whilst on-duty

If you are a Tier 2 visa applicant and you are coming to work in an occupation defined by the relevant Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) code, you will be required to provide a criminal record certificate from any country you have lived in for 12 months or more in the last 10 years, this is also applicable for your adult dependants.
Employers are expected to implement the Care Certificate for all applicable new starters from April 2015. The Care Certificate aims to equip health and social care support workers with the knowledge and skills which they need to provide safe, compassionate care. We expect all new starters in clinical, patient facing posts (bands 1-4) to complete all 15 standards of the Care Certificate, within their first 6 months with the Trust.
