Full Job Description

Your main duties and responsibilities will be:

  • To plan committee dates and set an appropriate calendar of events, liaising with the Directors, Section 151 Officer and Monitoring Officer as appropriate. You will ensure that documentation is prepared to agreed corporate standards, printed and distributed within statutory timescales. Attending all committee meetings, you will be responsible for taking minutes and preparing action lists to facilitate recording and decision-making.
  • To provide members, staff and the public with advice on the Authority's standing orders, scheme of delegation and other related regulations and codes. You will also respond to ad hoc enquiries from Members, public and staff on relevant issues and coordinate the procedure in place for public speaking requests made by the public.
  • To coordinate travel and hotel arrangements, induction and conference bookings on behalf of Members. And, in liaison with the PA to Chief Executive, organise strategic workshops/away days attended by both Members and Executive Board.
  • In liaison with the Authority Chair, to coordinate Personal Development Plans for all Members. From the Personal Development Plans, you will organise and support Members' training needs in liaison with the Authority's Chair, Deputy Chair and Head of People & OD.

    This opportunity would suit someone who's methodical and has an eye for detail. Previous experience would be beneficial.
