Full Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity if you are a Registered Social Worker, Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Speech & Language Therapist to join our Trust wide team. The successful candidate will work with the Trust MCA Lead Practitioner. This is a substantive post but a secondment could be offered. The successful post holder will be qualified to degree level with significant post registration experience some of which must be working with adults at risk of harm or neglect including those with impaired capacity. Candidates will be asked to discuss an unseen scenario, time will be allowed to prepare at interview.

  • Main duties of the job The post holder will support the Trust MCA Lead Practitioner in updating and implementing policies and procedures and other clinical governance issues in line with the Trust's goals and relevant to the legislation of the Mental Capacity Act (2005), Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (2007) and revised Mental Capacity Act, including Liberty Protection Safeguards (2019). The successful candidate will assist within the Single Point of Contact model for the management of DoLS applications/authorisations and produce reports for committees and senior groups within the Trust and other stakeholders. Provide guidance, advice and support to hospital staff in relation to their MCA DoLS and LPS commitments. The post holder will work closely with the Learning Disability Liaison Team. The post holder will proactively contribute to training particularly in relation to Mental Capacity and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards including mandatory training and the review of e-learning packages
