The Mental Health Act Administrator is responsible for managing the efficient administration of the Mental Health Act (MHA) within the area of responsibility and prioritise their workload to meet constantly changing demands within the service. The ideal candidate for this role will understand the MHA and previous experience of working with the MHA in an Administrative position. Rewards & Benefits:

- Free on-site parking Responsibilities of the Role:
- To ensure compliance with the MHA 1983, amendments to the act and the revised MHA Code of Practice.
- To support and advise staff, service users and relatives on the MHA 1983 and associated procedures.
- Create and maintain individual legal files for service users subject to the Act, safeguarding confidential information and statutory documentation.
- Keep up to date with new legislation relating to the MHA, and the implementation of new policies and procedures as required and ensure staff are fully informed and trained in new practices.
- To be responsible for arranging and monitoring Care Programme Approach meetings and be responsible for taking minutes of these meetings.
- To take minutes for Patient MDT meetings. This is not an exhaustive list of duties and responsibilities. The post holder may be required to undertake other duties following appropriate discussion with their line manager.
- Understanding of the Mental Health Act (MHA) would be preferred
- Experience of working in an Administrative role would be preferred
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality
- Understanding of safeguarding
We are looking to recruit a Mental Health Act Administrator to support our team at Oldbury, Birmingham. Coveberry Oldbury, part of The CareTech Group, is a registered locked rehabilitation Hospital with 13 en-suite bedrooms and 2 independent transitional flats providing supportive rehabilitation for men with Learning difficulties, ASC and/or mental health diagnosis. Many of our patient's may require to be detained under the MHA for forensic risks, deprivation of liberty safeguarding to help keep them safe from harm and require a structured and safe community setting.
