Full Job Description
The post is based at Britwell Health Clinic, in Slough, which is a quiet part of Slough, but which gives quick access to the main areas as well the neighbouring localities. The ideal candidate will be someone who truly values the opportunities that the mental health professionals have in assisting people going through difficult times in their lives. They will be passionate about helping people with Serious Mental illness. These posts offer the ability to work flexibly at hours that suit you. Whilst there is an expectation to cover night shifts, these will be scheduled to meet your needs. The team is very supportive with many very experienced practitioners from different clinical backgrounds.,
- The Health Advisor will be a key individual within the Mental Health Urgent Care Services for Berkshire and work as part of Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team's Triage Team to review all referrals received by CRHTT. These referrals may be via NHS 111, patients, carers or from other teams both within and outside of the organisation.
- The post holder will provide basic health advise to patients who have been identified as not requiring onward referral to the CRHTT, or other services, and support them in managing their own symptoms at home whilst working under the guidance of a registered professional.
- The post holder will be responsible for the prioritisation of presenting clinical symptoms, throughout a 24 hour period. This will include the transfer of patient calls to the appropriate responders by undertaking brief clinical risk and mental state assessment, formulation and brief psychological interventions for people presenting in mental health crisis.
- The post holder, working via telephone, will be responsible for validating, de-escalating crisis and coaching people in distress tolerance and emotional regulation strategies using a range of brief psychological interventions, empower patients, carers and families to manage distress and crisis effectively
