Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has opened in the Emergency Department at Northwick Park hospital, for a Band 6 Senior RMN post. You will be joining an innovative and vibrant Emergency and Ambulatory Service within the Trust. You'll help to shape service developments that raise the bar even higher and assisting in delivering quality care to patient requiring mental health support. Within the post you should be a highly skilled professional who can make their own mark within our services. You will be a leader who is committed and visionary with the ability to develop and implement revised ways of working to deliver improved patient care and organizational efficiencies. You will have extremely good people skills and the ability to take services forward as you will be working closely with the nurse in charge to ensure that all Mental health patients have the right level of support while in the emergency department. You will also be working closely with the RMNs, HCAs and security allocated as 1:1s to ensure they are giving the correct support to our mental health patients and ensuring all documentations are updated and completed. Based within the London North West University Healthcare Trust, the post-holder will work with the senior nursing team in the Emergency Department to deliver a service which is evidence based, has a reputation for quality and ensures that all available resources are utilised efficiently and within budget. The post holder will be employed by London North West Healthcare University NHS Trust (LNWHUT) and will be accountable to LNWHUT. Supervision will be in partnership with LNWH and CNWL. They will assist in the provision of day to day advice and guidance on the care of patients' requiring one to one and mental health needs within the Emergency department at NPH. The post holder will ensure that the RMNs and HCAs undertaking 1:1s are performing at their optimum level and that the team is delivering a responsive, high quality and patient friendly service. The post holder will work very closely with the Liaison Psychiatry team at Northwick Park, Enhanced observation team and the Nurse in charge of the Emergency Department ensuring that all patients who are on one to one are reviewed and that they still require being on observation levels.. They will participate in the care planning for patients on one to one observations and ensure the RMNs and health care assistants are working in accordance to trust policies.
