Full Job Description

We undertake comprehensive assessments and work to agree therapeutic plan of care and risk management strategy. We also offer short-term follow-ups using brief interventions. Part of the role will include rotations within A&E to triage and assess patients, presenting with a wide range of conditions and acting as a first point of contact. This will enable patients to be seen in more timely manner and help with the overall patient experience.

This post is eligible for a Golden Hello payment of £2,750 for new starters who are external to the Trust. This is payable in 3 instalments over a 2 year period. This payment is only eligible to new starters who do not already hold a contract of employment with the Trust. This post also includes paid enhancements for unsocial hours working during night, weekends and bank holidays.

The Liaison Psychiatry service for working age adults is an established and well-respected team that provides a liaison psychiatry service to Nottingham University Hospitals (NUH) at the QMC and City Hospital campuses on a 24-hour basis. The focus of our work includes urgent assessments in respect of self harm and mental health emergencies, advice and support to wards in respect of patients experiencing mental health problems and also work in areas such as Medically Unexplained Symptoms.

This post is open to both experienced Nurses who are already operating at a band 6 level or above and experienced band 5 Nurses who will be supported as part of the band 5-6 progression programme to progress into a band 6 position after demonstrating a list of competencies.
