Full Job Description

The Mental Health Nurse is responsible for providing specialized care to individuals with mental health conditions. This role involves assessing mental health needs, developing treatment plans, and providing therapeutic interventions. Responsibilities

  • Mental Health Assessment:
  • + Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments to diagnose and evaluate mental health conditions. + Assess patients' symptoms, coping mechanisms, and support systems. + Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
  • Therapeutic Interventions:
  • + Provide therapeutic interventions, such as individual, group, and family therapy. + Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques to address mental health symptoms. + Facilitate therapeutic activities and groups.
  • Medication Management:
  • + Administer prescribed medications and monitor for side effects. + Educate patients about medication use and management.
  • Crisis Intervention:
  • + Respond to mental health crises and provide immediate support. + De-escalate situations and prevent self-harm or harm to others.
  • Community Outreach:
  • + Participate in community outreach programs to raise awareness about mental health issues. + Collaborate with community partners to provide mental health services.
  • Documentation:
  • + Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including documenting assessments, treatment plans, and interventions.

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Specialized training in mental health nursing or a related field
  • Experience in providing mental health care
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with individuals experiencing mental health crises
