Full Job Description

As a Band 5 Mental Health Nurse you will be responsible for the day to day running of shifts, medicine management, attending MDTs, ward reviews, liaising with other agencies, and primarily supporting service users with their recovery journey. You will have named nurse responsibility and be expected to work alongside your named patient to support their recovery goals, with the support of the team around you. You will be responsible for appropriate time keeping, taking handovers, reporting and identifying any risks, improvements or changes in relation to the individuals you support. You will be expected to work as part of a team, taking part in team meetings, safety huddles, and training. You will have responsibility in relation to effective and best practice regarding safe management of medications, and holding the medications keys. Your role will include up to date record keeping, care planning, recovery planning, and information sharing where appropriate. You will also get to spend 1:1

time with the individuals we support, and at times their families and carers, in working collaboratively to develop a recovery pathway.

  • This post attracts a recruitment premium of £3,000 (pro-rata for part time roles). This is a one off payment with half paid on appointment and half paid after the completion of a satisfactory probation period (6 months). The premium is taxable. Please note that should you leave employment, or choose to move to an alternative post within the Trust that does not attract this recruitment premium, you will be required to reimburse all or some it, as follows: 100% of the value of the premium in the first 12 months; 50% of the value of the premium in the period 12 months to 2 years following appointment.
