Full Job Description

Working as a Registered Mental Health Nurse Team Lead in a Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services that provides mental and emotional health specialist services for children under 13 years old and young people aged 13-18. The trust has six CAMHS community teams based across Westminster, Kensington and Chelsea, Brent, Harrow, Hillingdon and Milton Keynes and two inpatient care teams who can help children, young people and families. Your role will be focussed around leading and supporting a team to help children, young people and their families and carers by providing specialist services and support by building strong relationships and offering a hand to hold in these challenge times. Offering all kinds of support including in-person, individual, on-line and group therapy, talking therapy, art therapy, family therapy, treatments, and urgent care. What you'll be responsible for:

  • leading a team of nursing staff to ensure the delivery of an excellent standard of care
  • supporting, guiding, teaching and mentoring others in line with the NMC Code
  • Triage patient needs in accordance with specific standard operating procedures and national policy e.g. NICE guidance
  • Assess, plan and implement care for patients within each care/treatment pathway in order to promote wellbeing
  • Facilitate the use of evidence-based practice to ensure that clinical care is both effective and appropriate
  • Carry out general nursing duties
  • Maintain contemporaneous records
  • Support and make a professional contribution to the development of integrated healthcare
  • Act as a preceptor/mentor in accordance with experience.
  • You will be involved in providing a high level of safe and effective care
  • Be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care
  • Liaise with the multidisciplinary team
  • The role will involve, but not be limited to you performing the above.

  • A minimum of 6 months paid experience in a Mental Health Hospitalenvironment within the last 3 years
  • NMC Professional Registration and keep up to date with current nursing practices.
