Full Job Description
Following investment in our expanding service we have an exciting opportunity for 2 Mental Health Nurses to join the Trust, providing a unique opportunity to develop and deliver strategic change in how acute and mental health partners collaborate, enhancing patient care and access to appropriate support and intervention.
Working at Frimley Park Hospital and Wexham Park Hospital you will play a key part in providing support and guidance to ward teams, offering flexible therapeutic intervention to patients and acting as an subject matter expert to other clinicians across the Trust.
You will have proven problem-solving, analytical, and reflective skills, the ability to function effectively in the face of highly emotional and distressing challenges, and a strong value base that drives practice. Working in partnership will be core to what you do in the role.
Main duties of the job
+ Provide expert advice, support, supervision, and training to staff on matters relating to mental health.
+ The post holder will have specialist knowledge of Mental Health legislation, including the Mental Health Act and the Mental Capacity Act, and will provide advice and support to staff, patients, families, and partners, e.g., Police, NHSE, mental health services, charities, and commissioners.
+ Provide a crucial link between staff in clinical areas and the psychiatric liaison services.
+ To ensure patients who have been risk assessed receive the right level of enhanced observation according to the Trust policy.
+ Supporting the nurse in charge in reviewing risk and adjusting enhanced observations appropriately while ensuring no contradiction with clinical advice from the psych liaison teams.
+ To support internal and external contractual arrangements and contribute to developing, monitoring, and maintaining robust mental health compliance and data collection.
+ Support individuals undertaking enhanced care needs, including RMNs, MHAs, and MHCAs, offering advice and supervision as required and ensuring care plans, interventions, and documentation are adhered to.
+ To promote and maintain a specific focus and interest in caring for people with mental health needs and work as an autonomous and accountable practitioner.
+ To lead in transforming care and to offer consultation to inpatient wards.
