Full Job Description

Bridge Street is a supported accommodation service that provides up to 12 months support to persons living with mental health illness prior to independent living. Enabling people to learn about their mental health, providing therapeutic support in a psychologically informed environment. In addition it provides people with 8 weeks transitional support during their move on into independent living in the community.

As a Support Worker some of your key duties and responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

Provide face to face support to persons living with mental illness.
Support to teach and develop daily living skills, emotional stability and increase confidence.
Write follow and review detailed risk assessments.
Maintain working relationships with family, social workers and other professionals.
Encourage positive behaviour, meaningful change in people's beliefs and abilities.
Understand and promote techniques to reduce drug and alcohol dependency.
Use training provided to develop and increase personal skill base.
Follow procedures, legislation and health and safety standards.

What we require

The ideal candidate is looking for shift work and not 9-5 hours. They will be an organised self-starter with computer experience and able to mix face to face practical work with computer based record keeping. They will be open and supportive to the needs of others and resilient and creative with ways to encourage and promote positive change in individual's daily lives. They will be aware of the needs of vulnerable adults and able to communicate effectively with other professionals and agencies in resolving and supporting issues

A valid driving licence and access to a vehicle would also be desirable.

Working Hours

Shift patterns: 8am-3.30pm, 2.00pm-10pm, Weekends, Waking night's and Sleep ins
