Full Job Description

Edwards Hall Primary School is part of the Learning in Harmony Trust, a values driven Trust based in Southend-on-Sea, Newham and Islington. Edwards Hall is a school with a vision for every member of the community to both be inspired and inspire others, to aspire to be the best they can, whilst supporting others to do the same, to respect the opinions, beliefs and differences of others, as well as being able to communicate the importance of this to others, and to nurture the growth, physically, spiritually and emotionally of all members of our community. We are seeking to appoint a friendly, reliable and caring individual who enjoys working with children to join our midday assistant team. Although this role will predominately be supporting pupils in KS1, if the need arises you will also work with children in all years. Duties will include:

  • Preparing the dinner hall for lunch and clear away afterwards
  • Supervising children in the dinner hall.
  • Supervising and supporting children in the playground.
  • Encouraging children's imaginative play including participation in group games.
  • Working cooperatively and effectively as part of a team.
  • We can offer:
  • support from a friendly, experienced staff
  • welcoming children
  • opportunities for professional and or personal development
  • a focus on staff well-being as part of the Learning in Harmony Trust putting staff first and providing many incentives and opportunities including free access to the Perkbox staff benefit scheme

Edwards Hall is a friendly and welcoming school at the heart of the Eastwood community. We are well resourced and fortunate enough to be set in wonderful grounds.
  • We believe that our school should be a safe, caring place, where all children reach their full potential as learners. Our pupils are encouraged to do their very best and we are proud of the children's achievements both in and beyond the classroom. Our talented team of staff work hard to provide an exciting curriculum for our pupils - continuously improving the opportunities and environment which support their learning and personal development. We enjoy working closely with parents, organising many events throughout the school year, to ensure they are aware of what - and how - their children are learning at school and are fully involved in their children's education. All appointments are subject to safer recruitment requirements to ensure the safeguarding of children and young people. All positions will involve appropriate checks and clearances.
