Full Job Description

The school is looking to welcome new Midday Assistants to our friendly team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive group of dedicated people.

We require Midday Assistants to work as part of a team, supporting the learning of our pupils with profound, severe and complex needs including autism. Some experience of working with children with special educational needs would be an advantage, though not essential, as training will be given.

  • Our highly regarded inclusion and outreach service which supports all schools and settings throughout Swale, comprised of Meadowfield Inclusion and Development Centre (MIDAS) and our team of Specialist Teachers, who successfully support 58 schools and 73 early years settings across Swale, increasing capacity to meet the needs of pupils with additional needs. In addition, STLS offer a rich programme of training to mainstream colleagues and to parents. Being a founding member of the Kent Special Educational Needs Trust (KSENT) - a collaborative group of special schools in Kent who work together to promote best SEND practice throughout the county. Our holistic approaches to support pupil wellbeing.
  • We serve just under 400 pupils with profound, severe and complex needs, including autism. The school is comprised of:
  • Honey Bees, our Observation and Assessment Nursery Early Years Engage Department, for pupils with complex physical, medical and sensory needs Explore Department, for pupils who benefit from a more individual-led curriculum Enquire Department, for pupils who benefit from a more academic curriculum Sixth Form Satellite provisions at Sunny Bank Primary School and Fulston Manor Secondary School
  • We have approximately 270 members of staff including Teachers, Teaching Assistants, Office and Admin Staff, Site Staff, ICT Department, Wellbeing Team, Finance and Business Services as well as our Leadership and Management Team.

    Kent Range 3, £12.10 per hour - 11:30am to 1:30pm, 5 days per week (Monday to Friday), term time only, 38 weeks per year, 10 hours per week
