Full Job Description

The post holders will be responsible for:

  • Supervising pupils eating meals.

  • Ensuring pupils eat their lunch in a sensible and appropriate way and do not share food.

  • Supervising play on the playground.

  • Offering and instigating play activities in the playground, and indoors in bad weather.

  • Encourage standards of good behaviour by dealing with children in a positive, firm and fair manner.

  • Reminding pupils of the school rules.

  • Monitoring children in and out of the school building.

  • Assisting children (particularly the younger ones) with opening packaging of food and drink items.

  • Dealing with accidents in the playground, classrooms and dining hall and recording information appropriately., Make an active part in managing and leading outside play, promoting good relationships and positive behaviour.

  • Comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to the School Business Manager.
    Contribute to the overall ethos/work/aims of the school.
    Attend training or meetings as required.
    Have a sense of humour and works well within a team., This role involves contact with children. It is an offence to apply for the role if an applicant is barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.
