Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, enthusiastic Band 6 Midwife to join our team within the Maternity Day Assessment Unit (DAU), providing support to high-risk antenatal women. Our unique and multifaceted service will give you the opportunity to be more autonomous and experience a variety of roles. We are a progressive service and endeavour to be forward thinking to maintain local and national standards.

As well as planned and unplanned appointments, DAU provides women with the opportunity to have an outpatient foleys induction which is midwifery lead, support the consultants with ECVs, offer acute scanning service and provide monofer infusions to our symptomatic women. We are delighted to have moved into our new building, offering a more comfortable and aesthetically pleasing environment which is well equipped and spacious.

The successful applicant will be motivated, passionate and dedicated to providing high quality researched based care, dedicated to promoting the well-being of our women, their babies and families. You will work collaboratively within our multidisciplinary team, including maintaining professional links with our maternity triage team, community midwives and sonographers., The maternity Day Assessment Unit is based at Stoke Mandeville Hospital, with close links to Amersham and Wycombe Hospital. We provide a 7 day a week service throughout the year, which covers 10.5hrs of the day. There will be a supporting role in the Antenatal Clinic when required.
