Minor Works Electrical & Mechanical Estimator

We are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our Team to lead and manage the commercial function on a number of Hard FM maintenance contracts.,

• Prepare and submit Target Costs based on first principles for minor Mechanical & Electrical works projects.
• Prepare and submit accurate budget costs following client's initial brief.
• Review and analyse all relevant documentation.
• Value engineer projects to meet or exceed the client's requirements.
• Estimating direct labour and material requirements.
• Liaising with clients to advise best solutions/values to clients.
• Identifying potential risks with design/materials
• Knowledge of local supply chain and experience in dealing with sub-contractors
• Knowledge of both NEC and JCT contracts
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and experience of delivering minor works and major planned projects.
• Strong communication skills and commercial awareness
• Work closely with the commercial team on minor and major planned projects.

• Demonstrate previous experience in a Mechanical & Electrical estimator role particularly within Hard FM Maintenance contracts.
• Demonstrate a sound knowledge of the market.
• Demonstrate a sound knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical systems, materials and installation methods.
• Demonstrate strong communication skills.
• Experience of working to budgetary targets
• Initiating, drafting and reviewing documents
• Excellent negotiation skills
• Demonstrate proficiency in IT applications- e.g. Excel, Microsoft Word
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Demonstrate a sound knowledge of commercial and contractual issues in relation to Facilities Management and NEC 4, 3rd Level Qualification
• Experience of working within the blue light and educational sectors
• Experience in open book accounting contracts.
