Full Job Description

As the company embarks on an exciting growth phase the company plans to expand the team and hire a ML Engineer / ML Ops Engineer to act as technical lead in the Spec Check team. They will be responsible for designing, building and maintaining end-to-end model pipelines using bespoke computer vision ML models and service-led architecture in AWS. Their objective is to use ML to convert high resolution images into useful information for customers., The main deliverables of the role are:

  • Write production-grade code for serving ML models, using industry best practices for model deployment.

  • Building capabilities to monitor and evaluate model performance and metrics.


  • Detailed duties of the role include:
  • Create machine learning models and algorithms tailored to address precise business challenges.

  • Implement and optimize machine learning algorithms using Python.

  • Write production, robust, readable and extendable code to improve machine learning pipelines.

  • Use industry best practices and seek to implement improvements across the ML lifecycle (MLOps).

  • Develop and champion robust MLOps frameworks and policies across the team.

  • Make it easier to evaluate model performance, design and implement reporting dashboards.

  • Implement machine learning models in production and oversee their performance using relevant metrics.

  • Document machine learning processes and results to facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration.

  • Stay current with recent developments in machine learning research, methodologies, and ops, integrating them seamlessly into DeGould's workflow.

  • Undertaking any other tasks/duties as may be reasonably required to fulfil DeGould's objectives.

    The ideal candidate would have excellent technical skills in both ML and software engineering, including cloud, architecture and writing production grade code. Through their career, they should be able to demonstrate successfully designing, implementing and scaling a ML platform for a commercial application (ideally with enterprise customers)., Expertise across ML pipeline and production (ML Ops).

  • Technical expertise in AI for image processing using: Deep Learning, Machine Learning, Transfer Learning, CNN architectures and the benefits of each (Yolov4, RCNN, ResNet etc).

  • Knowledge of relevant metrics and how to apply them to monitor model performance.

  • Strong knowledge of Python (numpy, pandas, seaborn, matplotlib, dvc, streamlit, opencv and more).

  • Strong knowledge of modern programming paradigms (OOP, functional programming etc).

  • Ability to write clean, robust, readable, error handling and error tolerant code.

  • Strong knowledge of Restful APIs (Fast API).

  • Good knowledge Infrastructure as code (Docker Terraform).

  • Good knowledge of AWS services (ECR, ECS, EC2).
